After a long day of working on the engines and drinking cold beer, we always make a pit stop at the Dairy Queen in Cumming Georgia. We create our own drive thru's and enjoy our free Dairy Queen. 20 minutes later, we are on our way down Pilgrim Mill Road on the other side of town to park the engines at Hunky's house.
It's also really cool to see the look on people's faces when they see 2 steam engines driving through downtown and one of them pulling a steam powered organ. I can read people's lips when they're stuck behind us trying to change lanes. "Damn Rednecks" takes home the trophy for the most spoken phrase from inside the car.
The Peerless with the Calliope
The Case
I'm willing to bet money we are the only people on earth that make our own drive thru at the Dairy Queen with steam engines. The funny thing is, twenty or thirty years ago, our parents were doing the same thing on the steam engines in Cumming Georgia and driving to other restaurants in town, but the City Police won't let us take drunk detours anymore. Booooo.
